I have just installed a brand new WUXGA RGB LED screen:
Dell P/N WU316 and LG part no: 171WU5-A1

From what ive read this should have been compatible with an M6500, I had to buy a different screen connector lead (dell part).

The screen works fine except I have no backlight brightness controls (or they do not work). On startup just before windows desktop loads the screen turns off and I have to sleep then wakeup the PC to get the display back.

Cabling is seated well and i have scoured the net looking for a solution and no luck.

The old screen was an WXGA+ samsung and I dont want to have to put it back in as the new screen is much better but FAR to bright for normal human use inside.

Only thing ive been able to do is via the Nvidia control panel brightness but thats just masking and changing the colors/ levels - not the backlight.

I have a Nvidia FX2800M graphics card installed.

    Any help would be appreciated.
