    Hello All

I have a Precision M6500 (a hand-me-down from a colleague). The spring on the latch that keeps the lid shut has come out of place which means the lid doesn't stay totally shut.

I still have the spring, but can't see how it's meant to fit. I had a look at a M6400 we have in the office - I think I can see where the spring goes, but can't see exactly how to get it back in. I downloaded the service guide but that doesn't give much insight.

Anyone got any suggestions how to replace it?

    Thanks

    Hi,

about the same here: my M6500 doesn't stay closed, seems the spring behind it is broken.
But .. I don't care - because: I will get rid of my M6500 (finally). 2.5 years of freezes/crashes etc. are over now: I will get an exchange system: a decent M6700.
After all the DELL support is great :)

    Ciao,
    Alex
