    Hello guys again,

I just won a bid on Ebay for a M6400 silver with the 1200p display. I suspect that it is the CCFL version, not RGB LED.

I noticed from many review videos that some M6400 come with the edge to edge glass and some with the conventional bezel.

I am trying to get all the parts to basically convert this thing into the covet, and the screen is the part that I am having trouble with.

Taking this LCD out, if it is the normal bezel version, is no problem. But the covet ones are 100% all edge to edge, so what can I do in terms of replacing the LCD cover, if my Precision ends up being not a edge to edge version?

    Thanks guys in advance.

First of all, there are no CCFL screens on M6400, only White LED and RGB LED.

I'm pretty sure all Covets came with E2E RGB LED screens, no exception; hence why the auction doesn't state whether the cover is compatible with the normal LED or the RGB LED screen (as they usually do for the silver covers).

Thanks for the reply. Yeah ALL covets came with E2E RGB LED. But I am very sure mine will be a normal LED one. Is this compatible?

I am basically just using the metal plate and the E2E glass, since I will use the cables from the silver original screen.

Ah, I see now, you want to use the old screen on the covet parts.. I really don't know what are the differences on the inside between the covers regarding the screen type as I never opened my screen (although, I was considering to modify it to a Covet (by mine already has the RGB LED Screen). Well, you can always order the Covet cover and if it can't fit, then get an IPS screen separately :)

Yea. I found out on ebay that there are two types of screen cover: CCFL and LED kind. So I am judging that for factory Covet screen cover/screen glass combo, I will have to use the LED kind. My M4400 was that situation.

If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. If I can, I would rather spend less and use the CCFL 1200p over RGB LED. Don't want to have to buy another screen panel.. Thanks again.
