Precision M4600 Owners Lounge

Hey There - had my m4600 over a year now and after upgrading the Ram and HDD to SSD, this thing flies. However, mine did NOT come with a Bluetooth module. Do any of the Intel wifi cards with Bluetooth work in the m4600?

 

Any 802.11ac card with built-in Bluetooth should work fine in the M4600. There are Intel and Broadcom options (among others probably). The Bluetooth light at the top of the keyboard will not light up but the system should still detect the Bluetooth adapter and work fine.

(Upgrading my M6700 to 802.11ac led to me removing the built-in Bluetooth adapter because it conflicts with the one included on the Wi-Fi card.)

 

Hi - from my searching it appeared conflicted on whether it worked or not so was hoping someone here had a working m4600 with this upgrade. Did windows 10 see it and automatically install the wifi and bluetooth drivers?

 

I've recently broken my screen. I've bought a 1080p monitor from here:

But after installing it there's no way the laptop is going to recognize it.
I've tried almost everything but with no success.
Have you got any idea?

 

If that is a M4600 screen then it is certainly LVDS.
Do you know if your existing panel is LVDS or eDP?

 

I had an old matte display with a 40 pin connector made by LG.

 

I'm not sure what the connector is on the M4800 eDP version but I know that there are 40-pin eDP ports as well as LVDS. If you have an eDP model M4800 then you cannot connect an LVDS display.

 

I've just taken a look at the datasheets of the LCD panels and they are both LVDS but the pinout seems sightly different to me.

i got a dell m4600 laptop about 2 weeks ago.
i have a few questions...
if i need help with laptop and suggestions should i use this thread or creat a new one regarding my questions.?
