I was thinking about changing my M4600's Quadro 2000m with a Quadro M2000M. Does anyone know if it is actually possible?

Unfortunately, people haven't had much luck running anything newer than a Fermi NVIDIA GPU in the M4600. That means that Quadro K, M, and P series are out. If you want to upgrade to something faster, you'll have to look at AMD cards.

Have you got any suggestion to have something as powerful as a Quadro M2000M?

    There is nothing.

The closest you can get is the m5100 2GB when Overclocked can be similar to the 850m (at least in Unigine Valley). Its based on the HD 7770.

I believe you would have more luck with the m4700.

    m5100 is a Firepro

The m4700 just has much more compatibility with more GPUs, professional or not.

Yes, I understand but it's very difficult to find one on the second hand market here in Italy under 500€ for what I've seen so far.

All things considered the m4600 is still serviceable, the m5100 is plug and play just make sure your on the latest bios.

Then you can flash the card for more performance. When I used that machine as my main laptop I was using at 1000core/1500memory playing Overwatch and R6 Siege comfortably enough. Low settings mind you.

Just use the m4600 if thats what you got already with the m5100, probably cheaper upgrade for now. Stick with the m4600 a couple more years until the m4700 becomes a bit cheaper second hand.

Either way the m5100 will be a big jump from the Quadro 2000m

Ok, one last question. Does the AMD card have the same features or there are some strange bugs that I should know before making the upgrade?

EDIT: I forgot to ask you if I need to change my heatsink.

same features compared to what exactly?

Enduro isnt supported so its basically no optimus or optimus like feature.

Otherwise you can check online for what features you hope to have for the m5100

EDIT: Is the heatsink the same from Quadro 1000m and 2000m? If so then it will work.
