    Hi, everyone) So i got my hands on refurb Dell M4600 yesterday with the following specs:

    i7-2620M/8Gb 1866Mhz RAM/Fire Pro M5950/250Gb HDD/15,6" 1080p Matte/Intel 6300 Wi-Fi

    I like to bench so i decided to give AMD card a run for it's money :D

    Also my laptop came with 2Gb Samsung 1333Mhz stick, which i upgraded to Kingston HyperX 1866Mhz 2x4Gb!

    Anyways, i used Sapphire Trixx software to OC the . Intsalled the latest drivers from Dell support page, so here we go... The stock clocks are 725/900.

    I started my session bumping clocks in such steps, a 3dmark run is required after each clock tuning to make sure it's stable enough:

    1) 800/950 Mhz
    2) 850/1000 Mhz
    3) 870/1050 Mhz
    4) 870/1100 Mhz - stable

    3dmark06 runs: Stock vs Overclocked

    In the conclusion i would like to admit the high OCability of the M5950 card, resulting in a heafty and stable 20% clock boost. But what i was really amazed of - the TEMPS :eek: First of all i bearly heard the fans running, seems like the laptop is idling all the time even with 100% load! 60C for the max overclocked GPU is superb.

    I wish i could grab some 2760QM for a better overall results but i'm completely satisfied with what i got. Nice job Dell :)

    Yeah I have to say the separate cooling systems for the CPU and GPU keep the rig nice and cool no matter what youre doing. An awesome rig that never ceases to impress me. Oh and impressive results!

    Sphinx, i only wish the laptop could have MXM 3.0b slot rather than 3.0a to be more future proof, but i can live with that, no problems)

    I agree. It would be nice to be able to swap out to a better GPU down the road as I dont see my 2860QM becoming even close to obsolete anytime soon. Maybe a better 3.0a card will come along one day...

    That's an enticing OC program there. I'll have to try it.

    Because of this encouraging post, i used Sapphire Trixx 4.6.0 software to OC the ATI m5950 of my m4600 with latest ATI-drivers and tried the following too:

    1) 800/1000 Mhz => flickering between programm-switches
    2) 850/1000 Mhz => flickering between programm-switches
    3) 850/1100 Mhz => flickering & crashed after ~20 min WOT
    5) 870/1100 Mhz Temp 61°C and rising, not further testet in Game-Perfomance

    ...i dont know if their is an influence of the Trixx- software on the ATI-Drivers because after installation of Trixx my picture of the screen became sometimes for some ms instable, in comon after switching between programms. ....and it became more serious after enhancing the Clock-rate ....

    I made no bench, but played WOT besides and get an increase on FPS from usually 35 to max 45 (with my special settings), to favourable 42 to 55 in max :) ...but after ~20min of Gaming i get a blue-screen :-( ... i know this already from my Desktop-GT8800 at high temps .... so for my sorry i could not say the Firepro OC runs stable.

    Temps under 80 should be fine. For stability you could try bumping gpu voltage up a bit.
