So I am in the process of getting a new laptop and the M3800 suits all of my needs except the storage. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a 256GB 2.5 SDD that I can run in RAID 0 on this thing? Please provide links.

Keep in mind that there is no hardware RAID on the M3800, so you would have to use software-based RAID 0, decreasing the CPU performance.

Does the M6800 have hardware RAID 0?

    I think so.

I too was thinking of a RAID-0 setup for the m3800 initially, but then decided against it, in favor of a bigger system SSD drive + a hybrid drive for data storage.
My main concerns about the dual-SSD RAID 0 setup were:

    1. reliability (should any of the two drives fail, I'd lose everything)
    2. total storage and its cost (I can get a much bigger HD drive for less money)
    3. concerns about driver/firmware and TRIM support in RAID 0 configuration
    4. The extra CPU load with software-based RAID.

Both M4800 and M6800 have hardware RAID. (Though I think with CPUs as fast as they are now, software RAID wouldn't be that big a deal. Never performed any actual tests on it though. :p)

Actually, what they have is firmware RAID, aka "fake hardware RAID", which will still cost CPU cycles (real hardware RAID systems for desktops have dedicated processors on the RAID board). But, like you said, with modern CPUs the impact is minimal.
