Slightly off topic, but could you please elaborate on which ArmorAll product you use and how you use it? I am assuming the ArmorAll does not damaged the palmrest?

I ask because I was watching a review on YouTube of the XPS 15 and I noticed considerable discoloration of the palmrest areas (see attached image) which I would like to avoid with a new purchase. I asked a similar question on the M3800 thread but did not get much response.

Sure. It is just called ArmorAll Protectant. I put a small amount on a clean rag or paper towel and rub it into the touchpad surface and silicone palm rest in small circles with modest pressure every couple of weeks. I have no discoloration and the ArmorAll is doing no damage. Just don't put so much on the touchpad that it runs in the cracks underneath it. If you are starting with a system that is already discolored you'll probably need to clean it as well as you can first. Not sure what the best cleaner for that would be. The ArmorAll does some cleaning too but I would get it as clean as possible first. I also wipe the lid and base with ArmorAll to keep it repelling dirt and finger prints.

Had my XPS 15 for a few months and I already have some pretty bad discoloration..
Is there any way to fix this?

Coming back to the original question, if the only "CAD" I will be doing is in Google Sketchup, what do I buy:
    M3800 OR XPS 15 ?

It will make absolutely no difference.
