    Hey all,

Just managed to grab an m2300 from the outlet store with the T9500 processor. I'm well chuffed but guess I will leave the total elation to when I receive it and check condition etc. :)

It's coming with XP and 2gb of ram, is it worth investing in a 4gb kit or perhaps that's not really needed with XP. My home machine certainly runs fine with just 2gb of ram.

Probably won't need more than 2GB of memory under XP, unless you're doing some REALLY memory intensive whatever it is you're doing. XP (unless it's 64bit, which is very doubtful) won't read more than roughly 3GB of memory anyways, being a 32bit OS and all.

Thanks for the reply. Well I got my M2300 and it runs like a dream with just the 2gb of ram.

Just incase any others are looking in the UK, It took me a while to suss out how the outlet worked with the daily uploads of new machines and the fact that most of them go very quickly. I had a few days off work so planned to keep trying and bagged a T9500 machine the first day so I am very happy. Sure saved a large amount of cash using the outlet too!

Keep looking between 1.30pm - 3.30pm for the upload to hit and as soon as you see something you like grab it into your basket and then do the thinking cos if you think about it for a few seconds it gets grabbed by someone else!

Hi Rich, I paid about £640 including vat and I guess it was only that high because it had the T9500 Penryn processor (which is what I was holding out for).

Mine has 2gb of ram, 80gb drive and XP pro. They did release a 4gb model on the outlet at the same time with Vista Ultimate but it was £100 more and I decided to stay with XP for the time being.

So far I have found the graphics to be fine but tbh i've not really done anything very intensive. Initially I was after a Lattitude D630 for work and web but thought what the hell, at those prices i'll get the delux version being the M2300. I see you have posted a question re performance with CAD so i'll let the experts give their opinions of it's performance with regards to that.

First impressions are good though and compared to my old Sony Vaio (circa 1999 technology) this thing flys. :p
