Precision 7720 build quality

    is this sort of thing normal nowadays?

    i've been w/ Dell since 2003 and seen quite bit throughout the various lines but never with a Precision - considering this is considered a top of the line workstation - this doesn't seem ideal. the cheapest system i ever bought from them, an Inspiron 13z in 2012, doesn't have anything like this going on.

    it's not a huge deal because it all still works but the hinge cover sticks out a lot from the back. the picture doesn't really do it justice but you can see it.

    Mine also like that close to 1mm misalignment, but never observed until you raise this up but i care not about it, i do not use the hinge very often, maybe about 20 times a year.
    This laptop is still considered solid, only more difficult to dismantle and assemble back compared to earlier generation.
