It appears the switch has been removed in the newest motherboard revision. That is the system with the 3080 so I guess motherboards from October and later should be this way.

Dang it... I'm sometimes running into VRAM limitations. It's probably unlikely that those cards end up on eBay and there doesn't seem to be much demand for the 4000 series cards used. I also don't think Dell would directly sell me the GPU (will they?)

External gpu's seem to be the best option though considering the advancements in AI/RT that my workflow benefits from. Ex. a 3060 does raytracing faster than a 2080.

Maybe eventually they will show up on eBay. You can set up a saved search for something like "Precision 7760 3080 card" and it will email you if anything ever pops up. I think it's a bit soon for 7X60 standalone cards to become sort-of readily available on eBay, I feel like that takes around a year from system launch.

It is doubtful that you'll be able to get one directly from Dell in the U.S., but sometimes other territories will sell standalone parts.

If you do try calling Dell spare parts the part number should be T9JH2 for the 7760 Rtx 3080 variant.

Pricing on parts can be hit or miss from dell. It is also quite doubtful they would attach the new GPU to your system warranty but you can always ask.

I'm curious—do you have an 'in' at Dell?

Nope, just have both a 7560 and 7760 with the 3080 now.

Wow, that was fast; hope you like them.

Incidentally, care to share the part number of the 7560's 3080 card?

    The 7560 Rtx 3080 should be FC17F.

The price on the 3080 is closer to the A4000 which is nice. Just wish they could be convinced to add S3 support back into the bios.

I haven't been following this thread closely, but I think you want to disable "Standby (S0 Low Power Idle)" in favor of "Standby (S3)".
I've had the same problem with my X17 after a clean install. With S0 Standby you cannot create new power plans permanently, they are all wiped after a reboot and you're stuck with Balanced power plan.
If you're on Windows 10 20H2 you can disable Standby S0 (and thereby reenable S3) by adding a registry key. No need for bios intervention.
From an elevated command prompt type and press <enter>:
    and reboot.
    You can undo this with
    Merry X-Mas!

There is no support for S3 suspend in these models even with S0 disabled in the OS. So basically hibernate is the only reliable option that can be used.

I might try editing the hidden bios setup options to see if I can get S3 sleep again without it glitching. Clearly 11th gen H series can fully support it as Lenovo has the option in their full lineup.
