    Miss my E-Port...

USB-Headset connected to TB18 - gets silent every few seconds.

Wanted to plug the headset into the laptop directly, but upon unplugging from the TB18 my 7730 gave a BSOD.

I think it was the asmtxhci.sys driver "ASmedia xHCI Host Controller Driver" 1.16.51.1 (looked up drivers page. Latest ASMedia is from June but released in March - hope to see some fixes coming...)

HP G5 17” is available to customize now. Nearly twice the cost of the Dell Precision 7730 fully spec’d out! Anyone else confirm?

edit: Just chatted with tech support. They said that pricing is wrong...will be updating it shortly.

No. The P5200 runs at 125-131w all day and is not a Max-Q. I posted screenshots already.

i don’t mean to offend you but, what you said is so funny. I have 7730 with p5200. And its power is exactly limited around 110w, it has never been able to remain above 125w at all. Check the photos in that 51nb forum carefully. After repaste, when burn gpu along, the 120-130w or so you mentioned is total system power, not the gpu power along. Gpu power is around 106-114w. And also, the 3d mark score there already indicate this is not a 150w P5200. I say it again, it is a max-q version with max power around 110w. Don’t know why so hard to realize this. If you still doubt this, buy one for yourself and test it and post you own plot here to defend your opinion, two words, prove it!

Looks like he does actually own one himself, or at least got to use one.
And he also provided the proof you requested.

Where are your screenshots? A video would probably be better.

Lol. I am the owner of that 7730. Bokeh use my screenshot in that forum to tell me my P5200 can run at 125-131w. Honestly, it cannot be more funnier. All the screenshots you guys need are in that forum. I tested my system before and after the repaste. Burn fpu alone, gpu alone, fpu+gpu. The conclusion is, despite what dell said, p5200 on 7730 is more or less a max-q version. And the cpu’s long time power is limited at 60w, this isn’t great because even m4800 with 4940mx can reach 63-68w. And after so many years, the flagship 7730 with 2186 or 8950 only have 60w, not to say they are 6c12t. And when you burn fpu and gpu together, gpu can maintain its 110w or so, but cpu is only about 40w or so. I remember there is a video on youtube dell person say cpu and gpu can both run at maximum, well, the fact is, this is not true. I am not saying max-q is a bad idea, but since dell claim they made their own so call dgff form of video card to maximize gpu’s potential, we have reason to believe it should be a full power p5200. Otherwise why create this Dgff form? It doesn’t make much sense, right?

If it were a Max-Q, it would say so in GPU-Z. I did have a xeon/P5200 system that I tested and will get it back tomorrow. I have been around here for almost a decade now and you would think that would count for something.
