    Hey there!

    I just bought a refurbished Precision 7510

    Specs:
    Windows10 Pro
    i7-6820HQ
    16 GB RAM
    Quadro M1000M
Toshiba 500GB 7200rpm HDD (Set as main drive for whatever reason)
    SK hynix PC300 256GB SSD (D:)

This refurb came set up like this and was wondering if I could get help cloning the HDD to the SSD then re-configuring the laptop with the SSD as C: drive and using the Toshiba more as storage for media and other files. I do not have Windows10 install disc.

BIOS has RAID enabled, but the SSD only has 124MB being used and I'm not sure if it's even being utilized for anything. Would I need AHCI enabled instead for the setup I'm going for?

I already have Macrium Reflect downloaded and have gone through a few guides already, but just figured I'd check here to see if there's any key points I could be missing before going through with it. I tried to talk with Dell's "ProSupport" but the customer service rep stated Dell did not support cloning and would be looking up everything as we go, so I figured this forum would be of more help. Not sure what kind of support/warranty I paid extra for if they couldn't help me with this, but that's a different issue.

Thanks for the help in advance!

It's pretty straight-forward. You don't need to switch to AHCI. Just clone the Toshiba drive to the SSD and boot from it. I recommend disabling or removing the Toshiba drive the first time you boot off of the SSD so that Windows isn't confused as to which drive to mount (had issues with this in the past) and so that you aren't confused as to which drive is booting. Once it is done and you have booted from the SSD, you can enable/reinstall the Toshiba drive and wipe it, and then use it for storage if you wish.
