I would expect you would see some sort of drop with a TIM repaste. I don't have any issues with Kryonaut, and in my previous testing it's only been ~2-3C different then Conductonaut on my 9560 and 9570 on both the GPU and CPU. I would try repasting it, see what your previous application looked like.

There is some speculation that either Thermal Grizzly has terrible quality control or there is a bunch of fake Kryonaut out there because people get extremely mixed results with it. I've had really great results and no issues with temps even after 6+ months with it. Others have terrible issues from the get go with it. Sadly I haven't looked into that much as I've been happy with mine, but perhaps you fall into this category. If so, maybe try repasting with something else to see what your temps do.

So far Kryonaut has been better for me than IC Diamond, GC Extreme, MX-4, and Phobya Nanogrease on my laptop and my desktop after multiple mountings. LM is king, but not worth it for me on the laptop.

You need a really tight fit for Kryonaut imo, if not it will dry out after a couple of months. It lasted me well on the CPU in my D901C, but it dried out twice when I had it on my GPU.

I did replace the thermal pads on my 9560s and 9570s which may have helped with the pressure on the cpu/gpu itself. I have not had an issue with Kryonaut on either model (multiples of each) after 6+ months each. No discernible difference to me compared to IC Diamond on my 9550s.

I am sure usage plays a roll here too though. Outside of benching and the occasional game, my XPS laptops normally just travel a lot with me and do school/clinical work.
