Please help: Latitude getting slower by the day

    Another scanner for nasties is Spybot S&D.

    If the problem is not something nasty then check you have the latest drivers. Also uninstall Dell Connection Manager unless you really need it. The various Dell software packages are very bloated and buggy. I use only a few modules of Dell ControlPoint.

    Is there any difference in behaviour when you are / are not connected to the internet?

    John-im not using Dells connection mgr.
    My computer is however trying to identify a public network-and I have no idea why.

    As for your last question, I barely use the computer offline so as of right now I wouldnt know. Will check though.

    Couldnt take it anymore.
    Slapped in a new hard drive with XP on it-runs liek BUTTER!
    EVERYTHING is faster, startup, shutdown, internet and all of my programs.
    Granted I probably have to just reinstall Vista but its amazing how much smoother XP.
    No bells and whistles, no senseless graphics and pain in the a$$ graphics.
