Places to Get Deals on OEM Batteries?

Both my original 9-cell and the knock off replacement I bought for my Vostro 1500 have broken on me. Where can I get an OEM replacement for a reasonable price?

 

There are some companies that resell Dell parts. I've seen some of these companies selling parts on ebay, maybe if you search ebay for batteries you can find some of these companies selling batteries. For sure if you search for other parts such as motherboards, keyboards, screens you can find them. I'm not sure if you can save much money that way though.

Batteries are a touchy subject, and not just for Dell but for other brands too. Probably the OEM batteries are higher quality and 3rd party batteries, but maybe not by much. I see too many people with original batteries having trouble to have much more faith in them than in random aftermarket products. OTOH a bad battery can cause a fire, so paying significantly more for OEM might be worth it for peace of mind.

I have a 5+ year old 8600 and the original battery still works fine. My mother's Dell killed its battery in less than a year. My daughers E1505 needed a battery after about 2 years. I bought her a 3rd party battery from ebay and it is still working fine after more than a year. I have a new E6500 myself, if its battery doesn't last I'm not sure yet what I'll do.
