I know dell don't normally allow overclocking on their laptops, but surly they will have to with the Extreme QX9300?

    After all,
The main selling point of the extreme chips is that they are unlocked!

even if the chip can oc maybe the dell laptop mobo has locked any ocing features. Try software overclocking like programs such as GETFSB

The XPS M1730 has an extreme processor and Dell allows overclocking on that. It's perfectly possible that Dell will do the same here.

being that the M6400 is a Precision and they did not allow overclock on the extreme in the M6300 I would not get my hopes up.
