Ordering/Return policy for consumers?

    I'm curious on how Dell's Small Business section handles consumer purchases.. given the M4400 could only be bought through the business section.

    The question is, how much of hassle will they give me if I order or return products through that section? I see on the Dell website its a 30-day return (US) policy at the very least.. but would that apply to me regardless? Plus do they accept their own line of credit as a method of payment? (did an order through the Home section with a Dell Preferred Account before..)

    Well, to return just use the request return link somewhere on your accounts page. You can also just call the small business customer service. They did not give me any trouble with my requests for a return or a replacement. They do ask you which business you're in and I just explained that I am a consumer who bought the laptop through the small business section. I don't know whether they accept their own line of credit as a method of payment because they offered me a replacement after I requested a return and I accepted the replacement.

    You can not used dell preferred account to buy from the business department. Dell is actually a couple different divisions, home and business being 2 of those. They are quite separate actually. DPA is for the home section only and can not be used for the business segment.

    As for the returns, you should be able to return it if you have a valid reason to do so.
