Id like to be able to change the audio out from my headphones to my desktop speakers and vice versa without having to close and re-open iTunes.

    Possible?

    Not exactly...
I use a docking station and USB speakers.
Its a bit of a pain to move things around in the back every time I want to switch sources. And I do happen to switch a number of a times ina given day.

I still have to shut down and re-open iTunes everytime I change the source.
