    don't bother with vista,
    just go straight to windows 7 when it comes out :)

    If you enter your service tag into the Dell support site then it will list the latest versions of all available drivers.

    Start with the system utility download. It contains a lot of operating system patches.

    That's pretty strange,I've bought two dell notebook's with downgrade right's and recieved both OS disc's each time.
    Maybe it's depend's on where you live.
    I'd be pretty annoyed about that considering dell are charging more for the option where I am now
