My question is that is the typical Quadron 350 or 1800 etc. still affected by Nvidia BGA heat problems.

I know NVS140s are but what about the top end GPUs you seen in Precisions?

Everything in the 8-Series and everything derived from the 8-Series is affected, everything from the D630 to the M6300. There are also some affected 7-Series and 9-Series parts.

Precisions had a pretty well documented problem, M90, M6300, all of those based off the GeForce counterparts as Commander Wolf stated.

    that's a bummer

i see some M4400/M2400s that are well priced with very good high resolution screens.

    Are they worth a gamble?

given they are g96/98 one would think they are ok??? no?

M2400/M4400 are safe from the Nvidia defects, though I can say the M2400's Quadro card is weak, it's based off the NVS160M found in the Latitude E6400.

Only defective GPU I know of in the 9xxx series is the 9500M GS which is derived from the G84M core which is known to be defective (just rebadged).

    thats great info there

i'm more interested in the M4400 since has the 1,920 x 1,200 screen

the M2400 with the 1.400 x 900 screen isnt anywhere near as impressive
