My Vostro 1500 was working fine this morning, I turned it off and went of to work came back turned it back on and all I get now is the power and num lock led staying on absolutely nothing on the so can't do any kind of test.

Its too late to call dell now but i'm guessing its either mobo, cpu or video card?

I'm just praying that my hdd is ok gonna be seriously peeved of if thats fubared, i'll have to get me an external case tomo.

    Was it "Off" or "Sleeping"?

If sleeping power down by holding the power button or removing the battery if the power button wont cut it. Then restart normally and see what happens. I've had it happen a couple of times in the past coming out of sleep - something interupts the waking up early on and it just sits there. Reboot normally sorts it.

Nah its not that dude, I tried that all before I posted. It was working fine I turned it of, a few hours later turned it back on and now have the problem.

Just spoken to Dell and there sending someone out on Monday to hopefully sort it. 'Replace a few bits' he said so mobo gonna be one of them I reckon.

Its not all bad though now I know my hdd is still okay.
