I've just bought a VGA to S-Video adaptor so I can send video out to my TV to watch movies. But I've plugged everything in and no matter what I've tried NVidia won't detect the TV as an external display.

I've searched on this site and on a few other forums and haven't found a resolution. I've also got the latest NVidia driver.

Has anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas how to solve it? I'm pretty frustrated as I was intending to use the TV out frequently.

I've tried Rigorous Display Detection in the NVidia Control Panel, and various other things, but it just won't detect it.

    Please help

What kind of VGA to S-Video adapter have you bought?

What kind of TV do you have?

New laptops don't seem to have TV-Out functionality. The VGA-Svideo adapter will only work if the video card supports TV-out. To use TV out to a SDTV on laptops without TV-out you need a converter box with VGA in and Svideo or composite out.
