No Sound or Icon

    I have a Vostro 1500 with XP, my sound has gone and so has the icon, anyone with any ideas what happened and how to fix?

    Did you try reinstalling the audio driver? if that doesn't work then first uninstall then reinstall the audio driver (uninstallation can sometimes help flush some corrupted settings).
