No RGB LED Screen for M440??

I happened to be on Dell's website earlier checking out the M4400 and when customizing their is no longer an option to choose the RGB LED screen. However, It is still listed as one of the screen options under Tech Specs. I live chatted with one of the Dell Rep's and they didn't know why, but said it is probably out of stock. They also could not give me a date.

Also, the RGB LED Matte display is no longer shown as an option when customizing the M6400, only the E2E with a price of 599$!!. The matte display is also still listed as one of the screens under Tech Specs.

Does anyone know what the deal is? Seems a little drastic to completely take the option off if your out of stock, just make a note that it will delay your order like some of the other options.

 

Try calling them, the phone reps usually are better informed.

 

Yeh, I couldn't really get anywhere with the person I spoke to. They just said options change frequently. However, on Dell's website today the 1920x1200 ccfl screen has a note that it may delay your order. If im not mistaking its the same panel with different back-lighting correct? Something must be going on with Samsung and manufacturing. Im assuming

M6400 has the note for both the ccfl screen and e2e rgb led as well.

 

There is a problem with the supply chain. I ordered an M4400 with the RGB LED on August 25th. Still haven't received it. The expected delivery date on the order status page has changed frequently, with a date as late as November 6th!

I spoke to my Dell rep, he confirmed that there is a delay in receiving the RGB LED displays from the Manufacturer. He also told me that according to their system, the displays are supposed to arrive at the factory today, Sept. 25th.

My expected delivery date as of right now is Oct. 2nd, a week from today. So I'm pretty confident that the displays are on their way to the factory. So, hopefully the RGB LED will be an option for the M4400 on the site soon. Depending on the quantity, and how many back orders they need to fill first.
