Some forum users have reported that their M6700 came with a newer monitor (than the monitor that came with the M6600). This newer monitor is the LP173WF3, LGD0310 monitor. One forum user reported that Dell-Mano_G stated in a Google+ hangout that the M6700s would come with newer monitors. (Perhaps the IPS RGB monitor also comes with a different, but similarly newer monitor. If so, please share your info in comments.)

However, some forum users have reported that their M6700 came with a seemingly older monitor. This monitor is the LP173WF1, LGD02DA. While this monitor has a production date of 2010 associated with it, the seemingly newer monitor listed above comes with more recent production dates.

To be sure, one forum user wrote that it seemed odd that Dell would put a 2 year old monitor in a brand new M6700.

Can M6700 users please report your monitor # info and production date?

If anyone has any info or guesses about differences/updates between the seemingly older and the seemingly newer monitors (either for the IPS RGBLED or for the WLED FHD), could you please share any such info or guesses here?

Just to be clear, one of the seemingly older monitors is the LP173WF1, LGD02DA and one of the seemingly newer monitors is the LP173WF3, LGD0310.

Also, if the IPS RGB monitor for the M6700 similarly comes with a different, but similarly newer monitor, please also share any info (monitor model, model numbers, and production dates) accordingly. Thanks!

Any speculation on whether the newer monitors with later production dates are better to have for one or more reasons (minor changes and improvements?), or whether it really makes no difference?

Why would LG change the model name and number if it made no new changes/improvements? In any case, perhaps Dell just ran out of the new monitors, still had stock/inventory of the old monitors, and started producing M6700s with the old monitors rather than wait to get more of the new monitors in stock? Should users worry if they receive a two year old, outdated/older model monitor for a brand new M6700 system that costs around $7,000.00?

I have a report from Dell that they have a shortage of M6700 IPS components (either the screen/monitor, the lid/casing, or other parts) and current M6700s with IPS have delayed delivery estimates.

Could other M6700's users please report their screen/monitor model name, model number and production date? You can find this info with utilities such as HWINFO.

Also, if any knows, could users report here what components go into the IPS configuration beside the screen/monitor and the lid/casing? Is it correct that the same screen/monitor is used both in the IPS RDBLED and in the WLED FHD? If so, where are the RGB LEDS in the IPS version? In the lid/casing that houses that screen? Added on/integreted into the screen/lid-casing during assembly of the screen and screen lid? Or what? Any infoom / answers to questions either in this paragraph and/or in the paragraph above this one greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    Mine arrived yesterday:

    Monitor ID LGD0310
    Monitor Name LG Philips LP173WF3
    Herstellungsdatum 2011

Really really small tint in right (blue) and left (red / orange) corner, but i think thats a IPS problem. Only noticebale on pure white and really minimal.
