My new (Refurbished) E6400 ATG config is:

    System Price : $599.00 USD

    Latitude E6400 ATG Laptop:
    Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 (2.26GHz, 3M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows XP Pro with Vista Business License
    2 GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz (2 DIMMs)
80 GB Free Fall Sensor Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD With PC-Card
    Fingerprint Reader
    Internal 6 Cell Primary Battery
    125V Power Cord
    90W AC Adapter
    Back-lit Keyboard
8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability
Intel WiFi Link 5300 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card
    Integrated Webcam with digital microphone
14.1 inch Widescreen WXGA LED Display - Brush Metal Black

Planning on upgrading Ram to [CRUCIAL CT2KIT25664AC800 4GB PC2-6400 2GBx2 200-Pin CL6 1.8V Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR2-800 SODIMM Kit] ($44.99 from AMAZON --no shipping). I know that i can only utilize 3.5 gb of the capacity with XP. Otherwise is this a good fit for my E6400 ATG?

I believe my Hard Drive is the noisy 7200 rpm Seagate. Any thoughts on upgrading to a SSD drive?

Many thanks to everyone that posts on this site. Your comments helped greatly on deciding to purchase this particular system.

    Great deal :)

Wait a bit on the SSD, they are still too expensive. 1 year or 2 should suffice.

And the RAM should fit just fine :)

$599...is that a typo? For an E6400 ATG??? If it's not a typo, you STOLE it! Congrats!

I'm curious, what made you pick the ATG? I'm a big E6400 fan (I have two, see signature below) and I was considering the ATG for work use. If it had been available with a WXGA+ display option, I'd have one now! It's very cool looking, in my opinion.

What part of B'ham are you from (if you don't mind me asking)? My best friend lives there and I almost moved there last year...and I may still. :D

My Seagate HDD is not noisy... I can barely hear it ticking and I can't hear it spinning. It has one disk... the 250GB jumps to 2 disks.

Not a typo -- used Outlet 20% off coupon.

Picked the ATG because (1) Twin 11 year-old grandsons living with us, (2) Semi-rugged construction, (3) Price vs new, (4) Weight not an issue for me, (5) WXGA just fine for my use.

I live in Lake Cyrus on the western end of Hoover.

Thanks. The 4GB ram upgrade I am going to do immediately. The 80 GB Seagate should do me for at least a year.
