I am afraid it will not work. My 3350 do not have a backlit, I found a backlit keyboard for 3300 at ebay, asked about compatibility and he said it will not work.

you are right, i google'd for a closeup picture for both the laptop keyboard and there are completely different, so i ended up buying one on the outlet with the backlit keyboard. received it yesterday and it looks great.

the silver top on the laptop is a bit 'dirty' though, not really pleased with it and the 8-cell sticks out as expected which unfortunately is not comfortable on the lap with the battery poking you all the time... oh well, this is a business machine as expected.

I received my laptop today and did a clean install of Windows. Seems to be up and running. I have the Centrino Wireless N 1030 wireless adapter but it won't let me install the wireless display software.

What wireless adapter do you have? Are there any special steps to get Wireless Display to install? I keep getting a message to contact the manufacturer.

EDIT: WiDi software included in the resource CD & the WiDi software found on Intel's website did not work for me. My brother recently bought an Inspiron 14R with an i5 processor & N1030 wireless adapter. So, I used his service tag and downloaded the Wireless Display Connection Manager driver, installed it and now it searches for WiDi adapters.

Hey, martiansoldier, good for you. To answer your question, I also have the 1030 (as stated in my sig, btw). One thing I remember about installing Wireless Display Connection Manager is that it wouldn't detect compatible hardware, until I installed the WLAN card driver and rebooted.

I had a similar issue. After I installed WiDi connection manager, it worked but then I restarted my laptop and My WiFi died. I checked Device Manager and MS Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2 was missing. I reinstalled the WLAN driver and restarted the laptop and everything is back to normal.

my 3450 (core i5 2410m,intel HD3000) last about 4/4,5 hours using Ubuntu (office/programming/a bit of web surfing) without wifi, 20% brightness.

Dell sells the 9-cell battery, just ask a sales representative through the site.

I just talked to them, and the said the extra battery is $80 more.

Can somebody give me a brief summary on its gaming capability?

In Italy, the extra battery would cost me about 140€ (approximately 200$)

I can't help you with the game capability because my 3450 has only the integrated gpu. although I can run pretty smooth Fallout 3 at med settings with my Intel HD3000
