    Once you know that you look for a plastic film, you will see it.

    IIRC it was on top of the m.2 stick, to give it a little protection I guess. Just look at both sides to be sure - might vary by vendor.

    The one I am talking about is "in the laptop", not on the drive — it is actually on the little heatsink that came preinstalled. However it would be where the heatsink sits "on the drive" after installation.
