    Also have the same problem.
    920xm oem with STG2

Idle temps are very nice 46-50C but @22ratio and wprime 1024 it's ~90C

But I think the main problem is the fan's work. They turn the fastest gear very lately so the temps are high.

I can't find any software which I could manually set the fans to run at full speed.
Using 15324 trick I can't exit to windows (desktop). When I press ENTER the screen blinks on and off with different colours.

Let me clarify, the OS is booting from a 50mm 128GB mSATA SSD PCIe mini card. In addition to that, I have 2 internal 2.5" SATA hard drives setup in RAID 0 mode.

So to your point, will it make sense to use AHCI if the SSD disk is not part of the RAID array?

I've got the same issue described earlier in this thread by giakomon.
Basically the two left hand (blue) USB 3.0 ports on my M6500 work fine in USB 2.0 mode when USB 3 is turned off in the BIOS but once I turn that BIOS setting on the drivers etc cannot recognise the USB port and neither USB 2 or 3 devices work.

Was a solution ever found for giakomon's issue ?

My m6500 came without Bluetooth support. I think I can add any mini card bluetooth adapter and in theory it should work. But I so much prefer "I use this card and it works well in the m6500" over "Theory".

Can anyone recommend a specific model Bluetooth adapter they recommend for adding to the m6500? I only require basic Bluetooth functionality for a MS mouse and to use a bluetooth earpiece with skype. My primary concern is compatibility with the m6500.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

    xPat

You could just order from Dell their Bluetooth 365 Module. That is what they provide for all M6500 equipped with Bluetooth. The slot to insert it is behind the display bezel right around where the Dell logo is on the bezel.

Yikes, this comment makes me realize that I may have really botched the diagnosis.

Frankly, I thought this laptop was supposed to come with Bluetooth, but I can't find the receipt from the e-bay sale listing the features, so I just opened up the BOTTOM cover and observed that the slot marked "UWB" is empty, and the blue antenna wire is not attached to anything. From this, I concluded "Oh, I guess this unit didn't come with Bluetooth".

But when I power on the unit (with wireless switch on), both the wifi and bluetooth LEDs come on. This seems to imply that the bluetooth circuit is present, and perhaps I'm just not using it correctly. But once Windows 7 fully boots up, the bluetooth light goes out and stays out. I don't seem to have any "Bluetooth Icon" in my Control Panel. Device Manager does not list any "Bluetooth Adapter", although I suppose it could be buried in an unobvious directory tree or something.

I already ordered a Dell 370 card to install under the bottom cover in the UWB slot. Will this work, or should I have ordered the Dell 365 module instead?

Sounds like I need to go through the procedure to remove the bezel and see if there is already a 365 module in there. I have a funny feeling there is. BTW, the BIOS setup has "Enable internal bluetooth" checked. I would think that checkbox would be greyed out if the hardware were not present...

I took the bezel off, and sure enough the 365 module is already installed. And of course Dell's wonderful web site refuses to cancel my order for the 370. Sigh.

But I still can't make it work. Wireless switch is on, and all the info in this thread (and from following links provided in this thread) says that I should be able to go into device manager and see the bluetooth adapter. No dice. Other comments said something about the "Bluetooth Icon" in control panel, but I have none.

Any suggestions? It's now clear that I had the hardware all along, and that operator error is at fault...

    Thanks,
    xPat
