    Hi havoctex,

nice to see you care about the overclocking tool.

Did you also find time to ask about the problem some users have with USB3. For example in post 4396 http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-latitude-vostro-precision/439109-new-m6500-discussion-thread-440.html#post6525709 ?

Yeah with a Covet Samsung screen I'm curious which way (color calibrator etc) would be best & cheapest for me to get it looking as good as possible.

I like the AW machine. :p
But the IPS has definitely more depth of colour. Plus, you only see a transformation shot with an average quality camera then auto-resized on the hosting website and eventually displayed on your screen ;)
To fully appreciate it you have to see one.

Both are factory calibrated. But I'm about to get the tools (and a better camera) and will do another comparison.

I was wondering whether or not there's a way to mod PrecisionON so as to run something like JoliCloud (a Linux distro) on that button instead of the (somewhat crappy and useless in my opinion) PrecisionON software?

I can't find much on the great Google..

Looking at the optical drive configuration for the M6500, the current default option is the 8X DVD with Cyberlink Power DVD.

My question is does this have any write capabilities? I'm looking for basic dvd writing but not necessarily re-write capability.

The $67 upgrade is for a DVD RW but that seems high for a laptop DVD burner.

One other quick question. I don't have a RGB LED screen calibration device (not even sure what it is). Will the screen still look good if I'm not able to calibrate it? I use linux btw and I'm not sure if this will have an additional impact.

I don't really need the RGB LED but it sounds nice to have and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't regret it if I can't calibrate it properly.

Also, I look at my screen for 8-10 hours per day. Will the RGB LED cause any additional eye strain or annoyances?
