Do you know exactly which parameter in high performance plan allow better results to your SSD?

Is the issue concerning only PM55 or also other laptop motherboards?

    Hey guys!

Just got back from my 2 week vacation, and I am now trying to catch up in the thread.

I see the A04 BIOS for the M6500 is out? Is it worth the upgrade? I don't really want to upgrade if there are any issues ;)

same here, though i hear its helpful for some SSD performance issues. I don't have an SSD so I don't need to worry...yet!

Also, anyone know how to use the display port to hook up 2 external monitors for a total of 3 usable monitors? I am looking into buying another external in 6 months or so and I just wanted to make sure its doable and won't put too much drain on the system if I have a 5760x1200 setup.

edit: just to clarify I will be using the 3 monitor setup for DAW/AutoCAD (3D)/ProE work mostly but if its not too much of a drain I wouldn't mind playing a game on a 3 monitor setup but its not the primary purpose.

I don't read anything like that in the changelog :

    3. Updated support for Precision On.
    4. Updated Intel reference code.
    5. Added Intel Hyperthread technology support.
    6. Showed LOM MAC address in BIOS setup.
    7. Updated SMBIOS type 10h, 14h.
    8. Updated TxT AC module.
    9. Updated TPM MA/MP driver.
    10. Enhanced HDD password checking.
    11. Enhanced the compatibility with IRST driver.

I have the 64GB SSD for my OS, and a 640GB HDD beside that, so I think I'll dare the upgrade in a few..

Oh, and I am also curious about the multi-monitor question -- not that I have multiple at the moment, and with me moving halfways across the world next month it is unlikely that I will get monitors any time soon ;)

Unfortunately no. All I can verify is that the cpu mulitplier isn't dynamically throttled using cpu-z when using the high performance scheme. Of course, if everything were working as advertised as far as that's concerned, you wouldn't expect that there'd be a performance hit when it was allowed to adjust itself... meaning that I'd expect the multiplier to be set appropriately if something like a benchmark utility were demanding more cycles.

    Shiesty to say the least.

Installed the new BIOS, and so far no issues. Will post if I notice any -- sorry, neglected to make any benchmarks before I did so..
