    Hey,

I think since this guy is pretty new, there's only a few out there own this machine (compared to the Inspiron 15xx for example). I was sold on this computer compared to my [cancelled] M1530 since I love the whole business and professional build quality feel it has to it. Here's the basic specs, for anyone who cares:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, 2.53GHz, 1066MHz
Windows XP Professional SP2 (64bit) + Bonus Vista Business (64bit)
    4.0GB RAM DD2-800
    Internal Backlit Keyboard
NVIDIA Quadro FX770M, 512MB (I'm an engineering major + I do graphic design)
    250GB HD, 7200RPM + FFS
    Internal Fingerprint Reader
    15" Wide Screen (1440x900) WXGA+ LED LCD
3 YR Basic Warranty (Onsite, NBD)
    +3 YR Accidental CompleteCare DamageProtection
ESD: 09/23/2008 (Not bad, close to the M1530, except there's no delaying)

I'm more than happy to do a review when I receive it (even though I'm not sure how to review to NBR guidelines). Lots and lots of pictures (lots of angles, more than Dell.com).

It looks good. I'm a little annoyed that my delivery on 17th Oct is still standing and you order a week or more after me and get it 3 weeks before me. Australia sucks sometimes, but grats on your purchase!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it end up costing you before tax/shipping? Dell's asking price for the 4GB upgrade is ridiculously high (+$170 from 2GB). Newegg has several 4GB kits for under $100.

Hint: Get 1GB (or the lowest config available) and upgrade yourself @ NewEgg.

Now, as for the notebook review...Sharif, if you want to do a review I'd suggest you contact Andrew. He might line you up for a front line article.

    That's what I was implying. :p

Even their HDD upgrade costs are astronomical compared to what you would pay on Newegg.

    Hint: Listen to Greg.

I ordered the base 2GB from Dell (they have this deal on the small business line that takes off ~$360) because there wasn't an option for 1GB. I also purchased a 2x2GB DDR2-800 (PC2 6400) kit from NewEgg for ~$60 (but you have to buy it before Aug. 31) compared to Dell's $170 for the upgrade.

Also, I'll sign up to do a full review as soon as I receive it. It'll teach me how to properly criticize a computer.

Edit: That is, if one of the other M4400 owners don't do one, I'm sure by the time I get mine M4400 will be popular.
