    My hd has crashed and I have a spare that is a clone of my IBM T42.
    it is not recognized in my DELL. What do I have to do to use it in my DELL?
    Will remocing all ibm programs do it? It is a seagate 100gb
    THANKS!

    I wonder if that old Latitude can recognise such a big HDD. 18GB seems to be biggest offered when it was in production.

    Can you get into the BIOS setup (probably press F2 at the BIOS screen but maybe Esc, F1 or F12) and see if it recognised that the HDD is present.

    Another test for the computer, if you have an optical drive, is to create a Linux live CD and boot from it.
