I noticed brushed metal black finish is susceptible to scratches. Is it the same for blue and red finishes as well? I didn't have this problem before with finish on D-series.

I can all but guarantee it will be. Your dealing with anodized aluminum here, not plastic that's colored all the way through. The anodized coating is also more susceptible to scratches than powder coated stuff if that's what your used to.

Mine gets drug in and out of a sleeve and tossed in a messenger bag several times per day, and isn't showing any scratches. Perhaps something hard or sharp (metal?) has come in contact with yours to cause it?

i've also noticed it's much easier to spot my greasy fingerprints all over the 6400s chasis. the grease kindof sinks right into the metal.
