The XPS doesn't compete so well at it's price point in comparison to Gateway and ASUS. Removing the graphics card option makes the Vostro a different class of machine, which I'm afraid will lower their sales significantly.

Id guess they're going to offer a 9-series card in the Vostro 1510 in the near future. Probably a 9500M or 9600M.

I doubt it - the only choice for the 1510 is the 8400 so I'd guess it's soldered to the motherboard like the M1330 and M1530.

    Agreement here.

Only reason I'm considering a Vostro is video card...and I'm probably going to end up springing for an Asus or Acer with a similar performance card for $100 more if Dell don't run another Vostro coupon soon.

...but what do I know...their M.B.A.s degrees are probably better than mine.

Ahh, no wonder Dell removed 8600m GT from the Old Vostro's spare part....
now you can only purchase the 8400m if you want to replace that graphic card.
    Have not check 1520's yet...

EDIT: 1520's still have 8600m offered as space part.

a WUGXA screen is a bit high resolution for a 15 inch screen. It all depends on who is using the screen and whether or not they can read the smaller words.
