I had my E6410 come back from sleep and the colors are completely inversed. Ex) white to black.

I rebooted it just now and the colors are inverted since post. So I am not sure if this is some kind of driver problem.

If I "hit" the screen a little, the color comes back normal and if I hit again, back to inverted color.

Is this the cable or the panel?

I'd stop using it and check all connectors, those ribbions can hold very high voltages and if they're loose it will cause a flash/spark and damage something. might be worth gently cleaning out any sockets/plugs with a can of clean air, and gently wiping any ribbon connectors with a bit of isopropanol alcohol

    :D

something is obviously wrong, give her a basic service/strip/clean and see if anything looks suspicious.

    - I suspect this is probably the panel connectors, ie. the ribbons that attach to the glass itself, this is not serviceable but there are a few tricks to squeeze some extra months out of it like gently heating the edge of the glass and applying gentle pressure to the ribbon

squeezing the lcd bezel gently around the edge might give you a clue as to where the faulty connector is (if this is the fault)

see here, I am referring to the 10 ribbon connectors at the lower edge (your layout might be completely different)

Thanks for the reply. I just rescrewed and reconnected the both ends of the display cable.

Then I tried hitting it again gently. It was able to take in some impact before the color changed. That amount of impact was a little more than the impact it needed to change colors before I reconnected. So I am assuming it has to do with the connectors perhaps.

Should I just replace it entirely?

I've seen it happen with both a bad cable and with a bad panel. Do try replacing the cable first, though.
