Does anyone else own this laptop? Yesterday my V13 reported a defective battery (constant orange flashing LED). Luckily I have spare parts from another V13 that died.

I replaced the faulty battery and it started to charge. It went from 35% and stayed stuck on 88% but Windows 7 says the battery "is charging". Three hours later it's still on 88% and the battery is cool to the touch. If I reboot the V13 it temporarily begins to charge i.e. the battery indicator begins to move but shortly thereafter, STOPS !

I tried a suggestion from the Dell support forum where several owners reported the same problem. Someone suggested with the AC adapter out disconnecting the battery from the motherboard then holding down the power button for 30 seconds then reconnect everything and it should work.....NOPE !

I tried another working Vostro V13 AC adapter, no change. I reloaded the default settings in the BIOS...no change. I checked the BIOS and it shows a 65W adapter connected which is correct.

Is the possible cause a motherboard? Does anyone have any other ideas?

Does the unit actually run on the second battery? Are you sure that that battery is good?
