Edit: Can someone please .rar their latest Quickset program files directory? I'm thinking of overwriting my quickset files with someone else's from their XT...

I've figured out that to update Quickset I need the correct information in my registry.

Somehow my system was registered as a "Latitude D420" or something... it's causing Quickset not uninstall, reinstall, update, or anything else because it doesn't know that my computer is a XT and not a "D420"

    Here's how you can help:
    In:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dell Computer Corporation\Sysinfo

I've tried to update all the information there. The few things I'm missing (or don't know what to put,) are:

Model (I'm assuming it should be "Latitude XT"
    PkgLoc
    RegulatoryID
    SystemId
    SystemIdDec
    SystemIdHex

If someone could export those fields and send them to me by email to [email protected].
The reason I need those fields is because they have a Latitude D420's system ID and stuff on it and I don't know what my systemID is.... I'm assuming it's just a fancy way of saying "This is a dell Latitude XT"

When exporting, don't export your SerialNumber... even if you do I won't do anything with it.

Thanks to whomever can help me!

i finally fixed it using windows install cleanup.

the quickset that was on there was from when the particular windows was on a latitude d420 but it didnt understand why is wasnt d420 anymore causing nothing quickset related to work... manuslly removing the problematic quickset did the trick and i was able to instalk the proper one.
