Need Another Antenna

    Hi,
    I have a Vostro 1000. It has 2 antennas installed in the machine. I would like to put an Intel 4965 wireless N card in it so, I need 3 antennas. Has anybody done this before or know where I can purchase a new antenna?

    You can use it with only 2 antenna just fine.

    Ok sorry,
    Can you tell me if the card will/should have the advertised transfer rate with only 2 antennas? What is the purpose of the different colored antennas. If they are all the same why are they color coded to different connections on the wireless card?

    From what I understand you will only get 130 with two antennas. With 3 you could get 270 or 300.

    What is the difference between the different colored wires? I can get a set of white/ black wires off ebay for 10 dollars and use one of those instead of the gray wire, if that will work.
    Does anybody know?

    I believe the difference is the color, lol. So long as you are actually buying antenna wire you should be fine.
