I've always had this since I received my E6400, but I just assumed it was me being careless for the longest time, so I just ignored it until about 2 weeks ago. I was typing a longer document and was under a time constraint. Anyhow, what happens is when I am typing (word, notepad, text box in HTML page), the typing cursor would randomly and suddenly jump to a different location - It turns out, that it will jump to where I last left my mouse, and whenever this happens, it's basically like someone sneaking up on me at random and clicking the left mouse button.

At first, I thought it was just me accidentally pressing the mouse button of the touchpad while I was typing, but after disabling the touchpad and buttons, it seems like the problem still persists....Anyone having this issue as well?

I started suffering a similar problem a few days ago. It went away when I disabled the pointing stick and buttons.

I'm wondering whether this problem was related to my update to BIOS A12. I have reverted to BIOS A11 and have now re-enabled the pointing stick.

Which BIOS version are you using? (It is shown at the bottom of the screen when you turn on the computer).

I have been using A11, but have definately experienced this in older revisions of the BIOS as well - I'm going to assume that A12 hasn't solved this problem. Do you think it's actually a software problem, or a physical contact that is inadvertantly triggered by pressing on the keyboard too hard?
