Try walking into Best Buy to buy one in person. You'll need smelling salts to offset the aura of fuglyness of some of those units in retail. Check out the orange horror known as the gateway fx whatever. Or that Qosmio, my god. We'll get some toenail polish & put some FLAMES on the lid, see, cos that means its FAST. There was some other thing with an lcd display in the keyboard to tell you it was REPUBLIC of GAM3RZ unit or something. Its like they think only zitfaced teens care about a powerful laptop.

Were you one of those people saying who would ever need 64mb ram anyways when windows 95 came out?

That notebook is not only overpriced, its ugly.

For the price of a late model used car, $10,000 bucks should give you a carbon fiber chassis, a lifetime subscription to PC world and tickets to next years E3.

Did I mention lifetime Lo Jack and a hairpiece to go with your CEO corporate salary?

It looks like a great machine, but a bit of an overkill. Yeah you can do a lot with it, but for the price you are better off doing those tasks on a desktop.

Nonsense. The 3700FX has the same GPU, and will perform exactly identical to the 9800GTX, given identical drivers.

Not true; some games do run in 64bit. Besides, you may be suprised to hear that some people do other things than gaming with their computers...

evilhead...i agree. Rendering will take whatever you can throw at it. I doubt most even know what SolidWorks and Pro-E are. Most are missing the point of this laptop. Atheist's comment is a good example of not getting it.

I think it's a bit underpowered for $10k, I mean it's got a single gpu, 2.5ghz quad core processor. For 10k it should come with two fx3700m and support faster desktop processors like the sager 9262... on the other hand it's got 16gigs of ram. :D Pretty cool lappy though.

Guys, it's not a "10K Dell" and thats the end of the road. It's the 16GB of DDR3 RAM that makes it so highly priced, get a clue ...You can customize a decent one for 5-6K.

Still beyond my range, but business will like it. But any smart business would buy the Precision T7400 desktop, which is the best purchasable desktop (2 quads, max 128GB quad-channel RAM, 2xFX 5600 GPUs) in the werrrld, as far as I know.
