This is now available for download for the M6400, and probably some of the other newer-model laptops from dell as well.

A description of its features is here. Highlights are

    • Bluetooth version 2.1 support
    • Unified Pairing user interface
    • Windows Connect Now updates

I saw this download for E4200 as well. I think it is Latitude-Precision wide.

    Does it do any good?

Yes, this was previously an OEM only release for new systems. It will now be included for everyone as part of SP2. :)

The feature pack includes a new UI that Pirx describes for Bluetooth. Now, Windows Vista will automatically list bluetooth devices that have been paired before in a new "Bluetooth Devices" folder. There is also a new way to add Bluetooth devices. Now, when you click "add a device" from the Bluetooth Devices folder, you'll see a new wizard that automatically searches for and lists Bluetooth devices that are in range and are discoverable. If the device you wanted to use isn't discovered during the search and has discoverabilty turned off, turning on discovery on the device will make it automatically appear, without having to start over again.

Pairing Bluetooth devices is easier as well, Vista handles the pairing process automatically and only asks you to pair if an error has occurred.

Windows Connect Now is now easier to use-you no longer have to plug in one machine to your Windows Connect Now capable router to configure it, you'll just plug said router in to the wall. It will then show up in Windows Vista's Wireless Networks list. Clicking it will let Vista automatically configure the router and set up encryption on the router. Connecting other machines to the router is easier too, you'll connect like before, then push a button on the router when prompted.

And that's pretty much it, Bluetooth 2.1 is included, and is a major part of the Bluetooth UI changes.
