I recently (a little over a month ago) got my Latitude E6400 which has been working great. However, several days ago the media buttons (volume and mute) stopped working. While I have installed/unistalled countless programs and drivers, there was nothing specific that I can think of that I did right before they stopped working. Also, the manual says that fn + (page up / page dn) also controls the audio but these will not work either.

I have tried both Windows Restore (several different points) and reinstalling just about every driver that might be associated with the audio with no luck. Removing any and all start-up programs also does not solve the issue. I would greatly appreciate any help that others can offer on this issue. Thanks in advance.

Oops, just noticed that I forgot to post this specifically under "Latitudes". Sorry about that.

here's something to try that has worked on my studio 1735
shutdown and unplug power as well as take out the battery
press and hold the power button in for 10 slow seconds
this will drain the internal power and "hopefully" fix the your problem
this worked for me when one media touch button was stuck and light up
    might work for you

Thanks, but no luck. It's not like its a major issue, it's just one that really gets buggy. I'm actually considering reinstalling Windows over the weekend (only partially to fix this problem). I'd love it if I didn't have to though. Anyone else out there with advice?
