    Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before but the search functionality always returns zero results for anything I search for.

I've just bought an E6520 and it came with 1x4gb Hynix DDR3-1333 (667mhz). Will I be OK to match the ram with another 4gb DDR3-1333 of whichever brand, or should I go for something like a matched pair of Corsair Vengeance Performance Corsair Memory 8GB Vengeance Performance DDR3 SO-DIMM 1600 MHz 9 Dual Channel Laptop - CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9 - Scan.co.uk or similar?

I want to get the best performance out of the machine, but I don't want to pay the extra if I am not going to see a difference between 1333 and 1600.

I will be going down the eGPU route with either a GTX 460 or 560 Ti, if that changes things at all.

    Thanks,

The difference between non-matched pair and matched pair, is even less than the difference between 1333 and 1600.
