    Hi,

Does the audio card on the E6400 have a option to remove the compression? Its unbelievable. I have to turn all my applications output volume to minimum and ramp up the windows output volume just to get anything that doesn't sound rubbish.

I'm not expecting audiophile quality, just enough to listen to a bit of rock music to without it limiting/compressing the signal loads.

In case anyone discovers this thread - I fixed the problem:

Went into the device and turned off all the "audio enhancements". There are a load of settings in there that give the audio clever effects. Its probably good to have it turned on for the e6400 speakers, but for headphones I find it better with all the audio junk turned off.
