Has anyone heard anything about the 2015 M6800 upgrade? Or is Dell skipping over a Broadwell upgrade and going to the Skylake upgrade?

    Thanks, Pietro06
If that's the case I am .expecting a plethora of upgrades to the current one. And I assume they be some real upgrades to the workstation.

Yes, I expect some good things too. You can read about some of our expectations in the thread titled
"M6900 - What specs are you hoping for?"

ygohome, ok I am a little confused here the M6800 (that I referred to) isn't that a Workstation (laptop 17 inch)?

The M6900 (the one you mention) is that a 17" inch workstation laptop also?

    Best regards

Yes, I'm speaking of the eventual successor to the current Dell M6800 Mobile Precision Laptop 17". The name will probably be "M6900". In the past, each generation increments the name by 100. For example, I have an m6500 from 2010. It's successor was the m6600, Then came the m6700, followed by the current m6800.

But who knows, they may call the next release of the 17" Mobile Workstation the M7000. They will not keep the m6800 name when Dell updates their Precision lineup. They increment the name with each new generation CPU upgrade.

OK, Thanks ygohome for the explanation I was not aware of the generation increment naming scheme.

    Best regards
