    Hi everyone!!
I need some information about the compatibility of the M6800 with this kit.
    http://www.bplus.com.tw/Adapter/PE4C V3.0.html
Does anyone know if it's a good idea to connect an external video card ?? I would like to connect a Quadro k6000 or a Firepro W9100, my Precision mounts a firepro m6100.
Thanks in advance for your opinions

    Hi,

I have three M6800 with EDP, LVDS and LVDS Touch Screen (TS) :
The all three panel are identical according to Dell's specification:
    EDP, LVDS - 44cm 17.3" UltraSharp FHD(1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit Premium Panel Guarantee
    LVDS TS - 44cm 17.3" UltraSharp FHD(1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit Multi-Touch with Premium Panel Guarantee

I am not a color professional and I don't need the panel with 100% Adobe RGB so the all three panel looks quite good for me, but:
EDP looks slightly better then LVDS.
LVDS looks slightly better then LVDS TS.
I suppose, EDP TS will be better then LVDS TS.

My main disadvantage of the LVDS TS is that I can see the light source behind me at some viewing angles. The TS is matte, but it has a little reflection at some viewing angles.
The all three panel are really good quality for usual job.

Please, see more details in the panel’s specs:
    1. EDP MM77H LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 17.3FHD, WLED, EDP1.2, AG, AU OPTRONICS CORP http://www.panelook.com/B173HTN01.1_AUO_17.3_LCM_overview_24679.html
    2. LVDS PJK33 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 17.3FHD, WLED, LVDS, AG, Z, LEGEND http://www.panelook.com/LP173WF1-TLB3_LGDisplay_17.3_LCM_overview_17534.html
    3. LVDS Touch Screen FPRRK ASSEMBLY, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, FHD, TS+NORM, GRAY, D17, LG Philips LP173WF1, Year: 2010 It is difficult to understand which panel from those ten: http://www.panelook.com/modelsearch.php?keyword=LP173WF1

    Hi there,

I see two items in the two different M6800 Dell's specs:
    The first is:
329-BBVS Smartcard Reader Base for Windows 8
    Part Number Description
4270E SCREW, M2X3, K SCREW HEAD, MICROSOFT, BLACK OXIDE
6350E SCREW, M3X5, K SCREW HEAD, MICROSOFT, BLACK OXIDE
63PDH SCREW, M2.5X5, PHILLIPS HEAD, THREAD FORMED, BCS
    7DDM8 FAN, CENTRAL PROCESSOR UNIT, 5V, M6800
881FG SCREW, M2.5X8, FLAT PAN HEAD, MACHINE SCREW, SPIN CUT
GKCRN SCREW, M3X3, PHH#1, MACHINE SCREW, NICKEL PLATED, PHTM
H66N5 SCREW, M2.5X4, K SCREW HEAD, BLACK OXIDE
    TJJ0R FAN, VIDEO GRAPHICS ADAPTER, 5V, M6800
X9HT7 ASSEMBLY, HEATSINK, CENTRAL PROCESSOR UNIT, 67W, M6800
F5HF3 ASSEMBLY, BASE (ASSEMBLY OR GROUP), NOTEBOOK, GRAY, USH, THIRD PARTY MAINTENANCE

    The second is:
329-BCBT Smartcard Reader Base (Non FIPS)
    Part Number Description
4270E SCREW, M2X3, K SCREW HEAD, MICROSOFT, BLACK OXIDE
6350E SCREW, M3X5, K SCREW HEAD, MICROSOFT, BLACK OXIDE
63PDH SCREW, M2.5X5, PHILLIPS HEAD, THREAD FORMED, BCS
    7DDM8 FAN, CENTRAL PROCESSOR UNIT, 5V, M6800
881FG SCREW, M2.5X8, FLAT PAN HEAD, MACHINE SCREW, SPIN CUT
CF0TC ASSEMBLY, BASE (ASSEMBLY OR GROUP), NOTEBOOK, GRAY, USH, EDP, D17
GKCRN SCREW, M3X3, PHH#1, MACHINE SCREW, NICKEL PLATED, PHTM
H66N5 SCREW, M2.5X4, K SCREW HEAD, BLACK OXIDE
    TJJ0R FAN, VIDEO GRAPHICS ADAPTER, 5V, M6800
X9HT7 ASSEMBLY, HEATSINK, CENTRAL PROCESSOR UNIT, 67W, M6800

    What is it:
329-BBVS Smartcard Reader Base for Windows 8
329-BCBT Smartcard Reader Base (Non FIPS)
    ?

Is it just palmrest with fingerprint readers and without fingerprint?
Has the second M6800 (329-BCBT Non FIPS) any Smartcard Reader?

Please, advice. Thank you very much.

It will be easier to buy a complete touchscreen assembly for the M6800 and just do an entire LCD assembly swap. I did that and still have my complete LVDS screen assembly sitting around as spare. Saves the hassle of swapping parts individually.

Here is an ebay auction selling what I bought.

I also bought a touchscreen with the WiGig antenna by mistake. Anyone needs it? :p

In terms of visual quality EDP > LVDS > LVDS Touch Screen.

Have you ever seen an EPD Touch Screen?
Can your compare visual quality of the EPD Touch Screen and LVDS Touch Screen?
    Thanks.

Can the power adapter for the 7710/7730 be used for M6800?
