    Hi all,

I have a M6800 with a touch screen and the webcam seems to be faulty and might need replacing.

However, upon checking the owner's manual for a M6800, it does not cover the removal of the display bezel from a touch screen.

After reading the owner's manuals for M6700, M4800 and M4700 I discovered that they might be sharing a similar display bezel design. Again those manuals does not cover the removal of the display bezel from a touch screen. The ones for M6600 and M4600 are a totally different design, so no help there even it does mention about the removal of the display bezel from a touch screen.

Going along that line, I suppose the removal of the display bezel from a touch screen should be the same across the M6800, M6700, M4800 and M4700.

Does anyone in the forum have any information regarding this?

I will also revert back to Windows 8.1 as precaution as I have two webcams in two different touch screens fail on me for no apparent reason.

Likely the outer glass is adhered on, so some careful heating and prying may be in order. You may want to ask in the ifixit.com site....

Bump since I have the exact same question.

OP: If you figure it out, please post on here. I'll do the same if I figure it out.

Not sure if anyone found the answer,
There are tabs around the outside of the screen. This is outside of the touch panel. The same panel that houses the webcam and is what holds the screen to the magnesium shell.

It requires a combination of pushing in and down before they will release and you can pull it up. The tabs are shaped with the wedge pointing toward the outside of the screen.
The fit is very tight, and there are many tabs, so be very careful as it could easily break the touch panel. There are also tabs in each of the four corners of the screen which are larger but only snap straight into the magnesium.

It might be easier to start with the sides of the panel near the corner, or near the top on either side of the lid lock. Use a plastic prier for computers, A screwdriver would be too wide and scratch.

When putting the screen back together, be careful that the cords are all out of the way so that the screen does not press into the screen itself as it would be very difficult to correct again.

Also be aware that the screen as it comes may have been done in a clean field as I saw no dust contaminate under the screen. But any dust under the screen may be visible afterward.

When I replaced the screen on mine, even though I was very careful and did not break any tabs, the screen is not as tight as it was.
