I just received a new M6800 with the touch screen option. The screen is very fuzzy/mottled almost like there is a screen protector or privacy filter on it. It looks awful next to my m6600 it is intended to replace.

Is this just the way the touch screen option is or do I have a defective unit? Or am I an idiot and is there actually some film I'm supposed to peel off of here?

Not sure if I could get a worthwhile picture of it.

    It's a UltraSharp FHD(1920x1080) WideView AG LED-backlit Multi-Touch Premium Guarantee.

I suppose that AG is anti glare and that's what I'm seeing...

    Thanks.

Update: Well pro support was very confused about the whole thing and eventually agreed to send a tech. We'll see when they get here.

I had a tech come today with a new LCD. While we had the bezel off we determined the touch screen glass on the bezel is adding all of the distortion. Really disappointing.

I'm shocked I haven't seen someone complain about it before me. Maybe I'm the first person to ever buy that option? (Joking). Although he did say he has serviced dozens of m6800s and this was the first touch screen he had ever seen.

Anyway for future reference. Avoid the touch screen.

Dell was very good about it. Took a return without a restocking fee, even paid for the shipping both ways and I have a new 6800 coming sans touch screen.

So kudos to their customer support staff.
